KWB acquires Solihull offices for Caterpillar Finance

KWB, leading independent specialists in Birmingham office space, has acquired 12,013 sq ft of offices in Solihull on behalf of client Caterpillar Finance, representing one of the largest office deals in the M42 corridor so far this year.

Currently based at Kingswood Court offices in Hockley Heath, the financial arm of the US manufacturing giant will be relocating 90 staff to state-of-the art offices at Blythe Valley in Solihull. Set to occupy the majority of the second floor of the prestigious business park’s Phoenix Building, Caterpillar has taken on a six year lease term, at a rental price of £18.75 per sq ft.

The high specification offices, which are leased as a whole by Centrica, benefit from air conditioning, raised office floors and excellent amenities, including an on-site cafe and coffee shop. The office team of Cushman & Wakefield, headed by Marcus Hayes, represented Centrica.

Speaking of the office relocation, John Bryce, property acquisition agent for KWB explained, "We secured a fantastic deal for Caterpillar Finance within the current economic climate, offering a complete relocation service for the company. By evaluating the client's property acquisition criteria, discussing detailed office space options and negotiating costs, we were able to secure grade 'A' office space, configured to Caterpillar's exact commercial property requirements. Managing the office relocation project from start to finish enabled the client to focus on their business throughout, whilst simplifying every aspect of the relocation process."
