KWB acquires 47,000 sq ft of offices in Birmingham

Centre Court, a modern, art-deco style, four-storey office building, which prominently fronts the main arterial A34 Stratford Road in Hall Green, comprises both conventional leased office space and a serviced office operation.

The serviced office centre, which occupies a significant proportion of the office space – almost 50% of the building – has been taken over by United Business Centres.

Tom Mulvaney, Managing Director of UBC, commented on the recent transaction, saying that he was “pleased to add a sixteenth centre to his national portfolio of serviced office centres and was anticipating raising the profile of Centre Court amongst local businesses looking to acquire office space in Solihull, Shirley and Hall Green.”

Centre Court complements UBC’s existing serviced offices at Birmingham Airport and Henley-in-Arden.

In addition to the four-storey frontage, Centre Court’s one-acre site also incorporates a more recent addition of an interlinked two-storey office building to the rear. The buildings comprise a mixture of cellular and open plan office space, a large proportion of which has been upgraded to provide suspended ceilings, category II lighting and air conditioning. The main building incorporates an attractive visitor reception with two passenger lifts and additional basement storage.

KWB has been retained to asset manage Centre Court and to market the remaining office space to occupiers looking for offices in Shirley, Solihull, Hall Green and the surrounding Birmingham conurbations.

John Bryce, Partner at KWB commercial property agents, said: “Centre Court is a significant office building in a busy suburb of Birmingham, equidistant between Birmingham city centre and M42 junction 4. It offers excellent purpose-built office space and, with the on-site serviced office operation, provides occupiers with the opportunity to grow within the same building and progress from serviced office space to conventional leased space.”
