Biffa, which provides waste collection, treatment, recycling and disposal services to around 75,000 local and national customers in the industrial, commercial and municipal sectors, has taken a 14-year lease on 9,500 sq ft of office space on the ground floor of Portland House on Bickenhill Lane next to Birmingham International Airport and Railway Station, in a deal negotiated through the Birmingham office of Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), who acted on behalf of Biffa.

High Wycombe-based Biffa is leasing the property from Lafarge Cement, which holds the head lease at Portland House. Acting on behalf of Lafarge on this development were West Midlands’ leading office property specialists KWB and Savills’ Birmingham operation.

Nick Barsby, property manager at Biffa, said: “The timescales we imposed on this instruction were incredibly challenging and the legal documentation has been delivered well within deadline”.

John Bryce of KWB said, “Our client Lafarge Aggregates, is delighted with securing this prestigious letting at Portland House, with its prime location at the gateway to Birmingham International Airport making it one of the best located offices in the Midlands.”
