KWB appointed as new management company for Dockside Factory Outlet
Dockside Factory Outlet is a fantastic shopping centre located by the waters edge in Chatham and built around the original grade II listed dockyard building. As an outlet centre, all stores based at Dockside offer a 30% discount and include large brand names such as Marks & Spencer, Clarks Shoes, Mexx, Reebok and Cadbury. The centre also has an award-winning on-site car park due to its safety, excellent lighting and fantastic camera coverage.
Since taking over in November 2006, KWB has taken in hand the financial management of the centre, undertaken best value reviews, re-tendered supplier contracts and as a result of effective management, has saved £50,000 on the outlet’s cleaning contract and achieved a further saving on the security contract which provides 24/7 security for the site. As a result of these savings, KWB has already reduced the service charge from £10 to £9 per sq ft which will benefit the centre by attracting new retail tenants. Since being instructed, KWB has also appointed a new M&E contractor, Quay Planned Management, and now provides the customer service operation based within the on-site management suite.
