KWB’s industrial agency has advised on the relocation of Birmingham haulage firm, J Madden Transport Ltd to industrial units to let West Midlands at the Electrium Point business park.

Kenny Allan, Director of KWB’s industrial agency advised Electrium Point landlord, Hortons’ Estate Limited on the relocation of J Madden Transport Ltd to new premises in the Black Country.

The company has moved to Electrium Point in Willenhall, taking 37,200 sq ft in units three and four and part of the ground floor in office B on a three-year lease at an annual rent of £121,000.

Kenny Allan said: “We’re delighted for our client that J Madden has moved to Electrium Point, making the business park fully income producing.

“Midlands industrial locations such as this, that can offer good quality space, are in constant, high demand. One of the primary reasons for this is that they are ideal businesses such as haulage firms – being within a day’s drive of much of the country. It makes logistical and strategic sense for a lot of companies.”

J Madden Transport provides bespoke warehousing and distribution services for leading brands in the telecommunications industry.

The company was previously based at Heartlands Business Park in Nechells. It has relocated after St Modwen sold the business park to the Government to house a new rail maintenance depot for HS2.

Jeremy Boothroyd, Management Surveyor at Hortons’, said: “Having needed to relocate due to the new high-speed rail line, I’m pleased we were able to accommodate J Madden Transport at Electrium Point.

“As a result, all of the industrial units to let West Midlands on the business park are fully occupied.”

Existing occupiers at Electrium Point include West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Polyglass Limited, Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council and Advance Health Care UK Ltd.

Good quality, well-located industrial units to let West Midlands are in high demand, and short supply. KWB recommends that any companies with upcoming lease events, planned expansions or relocations, should consider their property situation well in advance to avoid disappointment. As such, they should contact KWB’s industrial agency for advice on potential options, as soon as possible.
